Philip Louie, MD serves as the Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder of STREAMD. He is also a Spine Surgeon at the Virginia Mason Neuroscience Institute (Virginia Mason Medical Center).
He received his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Medical Degree (MD) at the University of Washington. He subsequently completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Rush University Medical Center with Midwest Orthopaedics. He is a founding member of the International Spine Research & Innovation Initiative (ISRII), and has authored more than 85 peer-reviewed publications as well as numerous abstracts and book chapters. He regularly presents research at both national and international conferences.
During his residency, he developed a training simulator for fundamental skills in spine surgery and is currently an editor of two spine surgery related textbooks: The Video Atlas of Spine Surgery [Thieme] and The Atlas of Spinal Phenotypes [Elsevier]. Most recently, he completed his spine surgery fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.

He enjoys eating his way around the world, playing and watching various sports (still sore about the Seattle Supersonics), fantasy football, playing the guitar and piano, deep sea fishing, and a good strong cup of coffee!
